James Allen Western

James “Allen” Western passed away on May 9, 2023. Allen was born in Arizona on September 8,1949. Allen grew up in Prescott, AZ where he began moving houses with his dad Bernie Fisher at a very young age and later joined the Nave. Allen moved houses with his brothers and almost all Prescott’s old timers know a story about “Poppy” Bernie Fisher and his boys moving houses. Alle later settled in Phoenix to become a proud member of the local 46 union of plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding. Allen was a hard worker, and extremely dedicated to his family. He enjoyed taking his kids and grandkids outdoors teaching them all the many things he knew about survival, the outdoors, and hunting. He would recite Roberts Service’s “Cremation of Sam Magee” at the campfire and it sure was something epic. He was a collector of guns and ammunition, and was very passionate about archery. He was a friend to so many. He was always the one to call when you needed a hand, he could fix just about anything. Allen was a good ole boy and never backed down from what he thought was right, or to protect his family. Allen Western certainly broke the mold and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Allen was preceded by his parents Grant Western, Joyce and Bernie Fisher, and granddaughter Hallie Rhodes. Allen is survived by his wife Janice, son Saben Western, daughter Jenny (Ken) Rhodes and their 6 children, Jamie Western and her 4 children, Jeremy(Linnea) Western and there 5 children. Allen’s greatest joy were his 16 grand children who truly admired and respected their “Poppy”, Shalynn, Jacob, Kaylee, Nautica, Landen, Kole, Ryan, Conner, Abby, Graesen, Kambria, Lyla, alakai, Maelani, and Kassidy. Allen is also survived by his siblings, Steven Western, Sheila Anderson, Dave Fisher, Mike Fisher, Bob Fisher, Pat Fisher, Lisa Hadley, Sandy Pettet, and Del Western. A memorial service will be held Thursday November 14, 2024 at 2:00pm at Prescott National Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse House from 3:00-7:00pm Arrangements entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home
