Mary Elaine Annecchini

Mary (Lombardi) Annecchini, 94, of Prescott Arizona, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 9, 2019. She was finally able to rejoin her husband Rocky of 63 years who predeceased her in 2009. She was born to the late Domenico and Felicia Lombardi, on August 23, 1925 in Kiskimere,Pennsylvania. Mary was also predeceased by her brothers Anthony Lombardi, Mastrino Lombardi, Frank J. Lombardi Grill Sr. and sister Dora Lombardi Danilowicz,and grandson Rocky Walter Annecchini. She married the most-animated man ever born, Rocco Annecchini, in June of 1946. They lived together in the Saltsburg Pennsylvania area before relocating and settling in Prescott Arizona. Mary is survived by her prized possessions: six children: Victor(Linda) Annecchini of Avonmore, PA; Toni (Paul)Shearon of Flagstaff, AZ; Rocky (Shirley)Annecchini of Prescott; Debbie (Dave) Fisher of Prescott; Becky (Mike) Medina of San Juan Capistrano, CA; and Dino (Adrienne) Annecchini of Flagstaff, AZ. She was also blessed by eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren. She got to meet and hold all of them! To say she was an incredible cook is an understatement, she shared those abilities at numerous restaurants over the years making the most mouth-watering cookies, sauces, pizza, pastas and soups, but whatever the reason, nobody ever left hungry! She wanted recipes done her way and would famously hide her secret ingredient out of written recipes so she would be the only one to make it with perfection! Time in the kitchen with her children and grandchildren preparing meals was memorable and precious. Although, many times she would shoo everyone out of the room so she could prepare food for her friends and family, insisting that others sit while she waited on them. One of her grandchildren remembers a time when a few friends stopped at grams after hunting and she made homemade pizza. They ate close to 12 slices each and they still talk about it to this day. Pizza washer specialty for sure! When her street had a block party, people came just because Mary was making pizza and some of them didn’t even live in the neighborhood! If you needed a blanket or scarf, she would crochet you one. Even if you didn’t need a scarf she would crochet one for you. Always wanting to accomplish the latest pattern, Mary would delve into the task with a passion;especially if she saw someone else make an item that she was unaware of. Let’s just say, she insisted her family take many trips across the universe to find a particular yarn for a scarf pattern she found! Music was always flowing from her lips with a song or humming a tune. For years shesang as a soprano in Sweet Adelines with her beautiful voice. Once Rocky and Mary moved to Prescott, their porch swing was occupied by both of them waving and smiling at neighbors while Mary hummed along with the creaking of the swing. Mary was immensely proud of her family and the walls of her home were adorned with their photos. Everyone was called “sweetheart or honey.” Her favorite saying was “it could be worse.” She didn’t let the difficulties of life get in the way of the song in her heart. Other than her children, her pride and joy was her beautiful garden! Mary’s entire yard was adorned with the colors of the rainbow with her meticulously well-tended irises,flowers, shrubbery and trees. The neighborhood was brighter and sweeter with her little house on the corner showering everyone with floral joy. Even in her aging years, she would be found outside climbing over the retaining walls to pull weeds and keep her property pristine and the flowers blooming!
