Daniel Joseph Tavares

Daniel Joseph Tavares, born in Berkley, CA April 9, 1935 passed away July 24, 2013 at the age of 78 in the town of Prescott, AZ. Daniel is survived by his beautiful wife Kathleen. Daniel and Kathleen were married for 45 years. They raised their family in Orange County, CA. Daniel was a teacher at Garden Grove High School for 32 years. He is survived by his mother Margaret, 98 of San Leandro, CA, his brother Robert Tavares & his wife Carol of Fremont, CA, his son Donald Tavares & his wife Liza of Thornton, CO, his son Geoffrey Tavares & his wife Erin of Mission Viejo, CA, and his daughter Melissa Tavares of Long Beach, CA. Those that knew Daniel knew how much of a smile kids would put on his face. Daniel had four grandchildren, Lindsey, Braedon, Aisha and Ava. Daniel was a very proud Grandfather and would love to hear stories about the kids. These stories would always brighten his day. Daniel & Kathleen were also foster parents to 17 children in their younger years. Daniel will be missed tremendously by all his family. He was a husband, father, son, brother and friend. Your smile will be missed. Church services will be on Friday, August 9th at Sacred Heart Church in Prescott, AZ at 11am. There will be a Graveside Service in Orange, CA on Monday, August 12th at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery at 10am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to Saint Vincent de Paul, 120 N Summit Ave, Prescott, AZ 86301. Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements
